What to Do in Sevenoaks

There’s plenty to do in Sevenoaks, which is one of the reasons why it’s such a pleasure to work here. Whether you are looking for something to do for the day or just after somewhere to grab a quick bite to eat, Sevenoaks caters for your needs admirably.

As we have been providing IT support in Sevenoaks for some time, we thought it might be a nice idea to give you a bit of a run down on what we think are some of the best things that you can do while you are in the area. So, without further ado, here is our mini guide to what to do in Sevenoaks.

Eating out in Sevenoaks

We love our food in the office, so we are forever trying out new places to eat and discussing what we’ve found on our culinary travels. Luckily for us, Sevenoaks has some great restaurants so we don’t have to go far to get fed handsomely. Here are a couple of our current favorites.

Hattusa

This Turkish restaurant gets the thumbs up from pretty much all of us and we’re sure you’ll fall in love with it, too. Whether you pop in for lunch or go out for full-on Saturday night out with friends, Hattusa will not disappoint you. The food is excellent and the service matches it.

Giacomo’s

If ever we have clients in town, Giacomo’s is where we take them. The restaurant is little bit away from the town centre, but it’s worth the three-mile trip. As you would expect from a quality Italian restaurant, the service here is amazing; it’s like coming home from a long trip away, they’re so friendly. The food is fantastic as well, making Giacomo’s a definite hit with everyone we take there.

Sevenoaks has some fantastic pubs, too

We’re lucky in Sevenoaks as we have some amazing pubs that also serve food if you are looking for something a little more relaxed than the full on restaurant experience. These watering holes provide the perfect spots to pick up a bite to eat at lunchtime, and none of them ever disappoint.

First on the list has to be The Windmill. We absolutely love this place. The food is excellent and the staff are always friendly and hospitable. We even head down here at the weekends as their roast dinners are second to none, and it saves us having to wash up! Always worth calling ahead to make a reservation, though. The Windmill is extremely popular, and once you’ve been here once you’ll definitely know why.

Another decent pub in Sevenoaks is The Bricklayers Arms. A truly traditional English boozer with a welcoming atmosphere and good food and drink. Check out the Harvey’s beer while you’re here, it’s some of the best in Sevenoaks. The food is typical pub grub, but it is done to a high standard. Booking is advised here, too.

Get back to nature

As you would expect from the Garden of England, this part of Kent has some fabulous countryside if you want to walk off the food or maybe indulge in a round of golf with friends. Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve is a tranquil place to go and relax in beautiful surroundings, while the Riverhill Himalayan Gardens gives you the opportunity to see wild flowers at their very finest.

Just away from Sevenoaks in Eynsford is one of the best attractions in the country, let alone the county – Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation. Eagle Heights is one of the United Kingdom’s biggest bird of prey centres, but they also have an array of other wildlife that will entertain and delight everyone from the little ones to the big kids among us. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Live entertainment

If you are looking for a little bit of live entertainment in Sevenoaks, the Stag Community Arts Centre will give you what you’re after. The Stag has a range of shows throughout the year, with top notch comedy performances, musicals and dramas all on offer here. The Stag is also the local cinema, too, so you can even catch the latest blockbuster if you’d prefer.
