What to Do in Central London

Central London is a big place, and you can do all manner of things while you are here. In fact, it would probably be easier to list exactly what you can’t do rather than what you can! However, we thought that it would be a good idea to put together some of the things that we enjoy doing, seeing and going to in this incredible city of ours. So, if you are ready to read on, we’ll begin!

Getting fed in the Capital

Finding places to eat in Central London really is not a problem. There are all manner of eateries here, from high end Michelin starred fine dining experiences down to the hot dog vendors in Leicester Square that make you feel as though you are playing Russian roulette with a bun not a gun. For us, places like Balls & Company in Soho fit the bill, great food done with typical London style but without the eye watering prices that are so often found in the capital.

Or how about Daddy Donkey in Farringdon? This weirdly named joint is fast becoming the go to place for our weekly burrito fix, but be prepared to queue; it’s a busy, busy place. For when we are feeling altogether healthier, Hummus Bros come to the rescue time after time. This Soho stalwart is the perfect place to load up on protein without hurting a single animal – unless you opt for the beef topped hummus, of course.

How about after work?

Glad you asked! Sometimes it feels downright rude to head straight home when you are surrounded by so much goodness, so we often head out as a team and get a little bonding going on. Pubs are plentiful, but frankly quite boring to write about, so we’ll try and point you in an altogether different direction if you’ll allow us.

One place that never fails is Tate Britain, and their After Hours evenings are always winners. Explore the latest exhibitions whilst quaffing some of the good stuff, and many of the showings are half price between 6 and 9.30pm – perfect. Another thing that we have been doing quite a bit lately is going to the Laughter Workout at The Meeting Room in Neal’s Yard. This fun evening event gets rid of all the work stresses and leaves you feeling uplifted each and every time you attend. Give it a try!

Away from work in Central London

In case you are starting to think that we are more of a cult than a place of work, I’ll skip cheerfully on to what some of us like to do when we’re actually not in each other’s company. Naturally, there are a plethora of options available to our business in Central London, with gigs, theatres and events aplenty in and around the West End, so much of our time is spent at one or another of these venues.

However, there are other things to do, too. How about a trip to Spitalfields City Farm with the kids? Lots of rare breeds now live inside the former railway goods depot and you’re free to drop in and say hi to the local characters who go by the name of Bentley the goat and Bayleaf the donkey. They also offer free cookery classes and have a young farmers’ club too.

Another thing we adore is the growing trend of showing films in the open air. While this may be a more seasonal affair, it is one of our favourite things to do in the city. There’s just something special about sharing a balmy summer evening with a load of strangers in front of a big screen that floats our boat. If you fancy a drink but don’t want to end up in a bog standard boozer, then why not opt for Draughts. This is London’s original board game café (yes, you did read that correctly) and it can be a brilliant night out with mates, especially the competitive ones. Alternatively, why not get your bowl on at All Star Lanes in Brick Lane? This fabulous retro bowling alley is a great place to go in a crowd and the food and drink is pretty decent in there, too.
